A Novel Approach for the Coverage of Severe Gingival Recession Defect Using Pedicled Buccal Fat Pad: a Case Report

چکیده
Background: Apical shifting of marginal gingiva results into gingival recession whether occuring locally or in generalized form is a common and undesirable condition. Treatment results and prognoses of Miller's Class IV gingival recession defects using presently available surgical techniques are not satisfactory. The present case was done with aim and objective of establishing a new technique for the root coverage of severe gingival recession defects (Miller's Class IV) using a new donor site which provides tissue with adequate blood supply i.e. pedicled buccal fat pad (PBFP).

Non-Pedicled Buccal Fat Pad Grafts to Treatment for Class I and II Gingival Recessions: A Clinical Trial.
The aim of this study was to analyze the transplant efficiency of non-pedicled buccal fat pad graft (BFPG) for the treatment of Miller Class I or II gingival recessions (GRs) and to compare these results with those of subepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG), which is considered the gold standard. Twelve patients with Miller Class I or II (≥2 mm) bilateral recessions in maxillary premolars ...

Oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF), which presents with a severe degree of trismus, is a great surgical challenge. The surgical procedures include excision of fibrous bands with or without coverage of the surgically created defect. The use of vascularised flaps such as the palatal pedicled flap, tongue flaps, use of buccal fat pad and nasolabial flaps are becoming increasingly popular. We present a...

Background and Aim: Several surgical techniques have been so far used for treating Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) leakage (rhinorrhea) such as using abdominal fat or fascia lata, but these methods have complications such as the presence of several surgeons in variable fields in the operating room or cosmetic complications for donors such as the surgical scar. This study aimed to investigate using bu...
